sleep apnea breathing device
Have jaw problems cause sleep apnea?

I now have problems with my jaw for a long time and it has lately been in worse. It seems very loud every time I open. I think it is misaligned, and I was always planning to have it checked to see if I temporomandibular joint. Lately, I have trouble sleeping. In the middle of my sleep, I would bolt upright in bed, gasping for air and tried to swallow. My heart is racing, as I try desperately to my breathing, which takes about 10-15 seconds to start new scary. I thought that perhaps this might sleep apnea. But I have no problems, snoring, I am not overweight, do not have asthma, do not smoke, I'm female, and only 21 years old. I do not think candidates seem to be very good. But I've read that one way to resolve the sleep apnea, is adding a device to push the lower jaw slightly forward. Could my poor jaw alignment caused me to sleep amnea have problems?

It definitely could. Especially when your tongue is falling back into your throat while you sleep, the then cuts the air and want to feel you that you "suffocation" and not a breath. You will then awaken in this mode panic. Since you are a night off and get your jaw checked out plan and your dentist will probably recommend you to a specialist and will watch that will make take some time, you can something in the meantime. Go to your local sports shop and a surgical mask. Yes, I know it sounds silly, but do it. The good old plastic mask. Wear it at night. It will take some time used to, but it is geared Keep your chin and keep from slipping off your tongue. Good luck and take care!
