Sleep apnea victims: What is your experience been with CPAP?
I have treatments for depression for about 3 years. None of the depression treatments such as medication and ECT helped. I have recently suspected sleep apnea and went to sleep one night to study. They confirmed that I was experiencing sleep apnea, and I had a partial night's sleep with the CPAP device in the test phase, but it was not to use a full night's sleep there. The test was last weekend, and they said it would Be 70-10 days for a doctor to analyze the data and back to me. I do not know how hard my sleep apnea is until I hear from the doc … I wonder if someone wants their sleep apnea problems and share solutions, and how well they have (or not) to work. I am particularly interested in any history of depression are either by or worsened by sleep apnea. I am not very overweight, 6ft 1in and 220 pounds, but the doc said I have a very narrow neck, and my heavy Allergies and problems with the sinuses play a role. I appreciate everyone's stories!
I am 36 yoa, 6'2 "and weigh 250 #, I have a 21 "neck and diagnosed as having sleep apnea were. I was put on a CPAP machine and I could not get used to the machine. I was confused in the Hose the whole time, not to mention that it was my sinuses dried to the point of permanent nighttime nosebleeds, even with a passive humidifier. I found when I started an exercise regimine that include healthier eating with weight lifting and cardio workouts that I was able to relax and sleep better. I Relapses still noticed my wife that I do most, if I have a stressful day at work (I am a law enforcement officer), you should try out the machine and determining for itself. There is also a surgical procedure where they "roto rooter" sinus passages to open up I do not know so well. I know that, when you find out what will work, you feel the difference in your quality of sleep. Good Luck!
