Sometimes when i stop breathing during sleep only .. It freaks me out and usually wakes me and my Eyes are wide awake and in panic and tell myself to breathe. I'm not overweight in anyway in collegiate football players. Its done all my life, but it remained for a few years and only recently came up. Ive sleep apnea is, but I thought it was more for people over-weight. What could be the problem?
Although sleep apnea is more common in more than 40 y / o obese men, it can happen to anyone in any age, and there are different forms. The hallmark Symptoms include respiratory arrest, by a complete or partial obstruction of the upper respiratory tract, dozens of times throughout the night. As soon as respiratory arrest, carbon dioxide levels build in your system, possible need to alert the brain that something is wrong, and it goes to "high alert", you wake up with a grunt or wheeze back to your oxygen level, again stand up. You have to go to a sleep study – talk to your doctor about it. A lot more about sleep apnea here: http://thesleepapnearx.com L.
